CC2640R2F: CC2640 External bias option

Hi TI Team,

I want to use CC2640 with CC2592 to get longer range. RX_TX pin here is used for external biasing to improve sensitivity. Do I need to use this pin when using CC2592 as front end PA?

I mean CC2592 alone would provide increased sensitivity. Should I leave RX_TX pin unconnected? If not, let me know how to connect it.

Also, most of the reference design only show single ended operation. Do we have any reference schematics with differential RF fed into CC2592?

Thanks for your response.
The link you have suggested uses CC2650 not CC2640 and CC2650 does not have RX_TX pin for external biasing.
I want to know that how to connecte RX_TX pin of CC2640 when using CC2592 as PA? Is it even required to connect it? If it makes any difference, then how to connect it?

Hi Rahul,

The CC2650 and the CC2640 are identical. Both have RXTX pins on the 4x4 and 5x5 packages, but not on the 7x7 packages.

Anyway, when using the CC2592, RXTX should be left unconnected.

In the EVM, CC250 RF is in single-ended mode or differential mode?

I want to use CC2640 in the differential mode so that I can get maximum power and longer range.

Hi Rahul,

The CC26xx LaunchPads are all with differential configuration. Since they are using the 7x7 package, they have internal bias.
