Smart RF studio with launchpad cc1350

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC1350

Hi all,

I would like to evaluate rf performance and modes of operation of the cc1350.

I would like to use the cc1350 launchpad and the smartRF studio tool for that purpose.

Is there any supporting user guides in the matter? I could only find: http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/swru194b/swru194b.pdf

Specifically, I have not succeeded on activating expert mode on the 1350cc, the option dosen't seem to appear.

thanks ahead,

Hanan

  • Hi,

    Please do the following steps.

    1. Connect the CC1350 LP to the Computer.
    2. Open SmartRF Studio
    3. It automatically detects the devices as CC1350 (Please see under "List of Connected devices")
    4. If the device doesn't show up in "List of Connected devices" then Click on Refresh List (Green Arrow)
    5. If the device shows up in the "List of Connected devices" then Double Click on that one.
    6. It opens up another Window, which asks to select either "Proprietary Mode for Sub-1GHz band" or "BLE Mode"
    7. Select the Desired Mode and Click OK
    8. Then it opens up another Window called "Device Control Panel"
    9. In the "Device Control Panel", Check "Command View" and "RF Parameters" on the Top line
    10. Then under " Typical Settings" , Click on one of the Test modes.
    11. Under "RF Parameters" section you can change the frequency to the desired frequency.
    12. Then Click on the desired tabs (for Packet Tx for the Transmitter and Packet Rx for the Receiver)
    13. Then Click Start Button, which is located at the bottom.
    14. You can Monitor the Tx status in Tx Wndow and Rx status ( PER, BER, RSSI etc) in Rx window.

    Thanks,
