CC2640 Bond count

Hi,

I confuse about the LE bond count, I'm creating a custom pairing procedure between device and APP, I want to use the bond count number to determine the device is already bonded with cell phone at the program started, so my questions..

The bonding list will disappear if I power off the device? If I re-power on the device, then can I just read the bound number while the advertise is not yet broadcasting?

My temp procedure will design like.. Reading the bond number in program start, and if the number more than 0, then don't do the pairing procedure, just directly do the connect action as normal.

And with my pairing procedure, it had some certification, it need to key some combination button on device while doing the pairing, so I need to separate the progress that have / haven't bonded.

Hi,

The bond count is determined by reading flash (which is non-volatile, so it's preserved when power is lost) So yes, you can read the bond count and do application specific behavior.

I think what you're proposing is totally doable. I'd recommend looking at the API and giving it a shot!

Thanks for the reply, I try to read out the bond number, but I found one thing, if I had bonded with cell phone, and when I forget the device on cell, the bond count still have number, didn't it clear the number while the host had already forget the bonded? If yes, so means I have to reset the bonded by manual?
