Android 7 CC2541 Pairing does not work

Yes, I tried that and I think that fix is already included in Bluetooth stack 1.4.2, still we can not pair with any android 7 phone at all.

Yes, we did, still it takes several attempts before it could pair

Can you take a sniffer log of the pairing attempt using BLE 1.4.2 and the findItem integrated? Also, what handset is being used? Do you store any custom IDs in the SNV?

After upgrading to BLE1.4.2 and integrated with findItem, most of our products (embedded with CC2541) are able to pair and communicate with Android 7.0 phones.

However, we still found some minority phones have pairing problem with CC2541 such as Samsung Galaxy S8+, XiaoMi Max and LG G6, these phones could not even find out CC2541 during scanning process.

Is anyone faced similar issue? Any solutions?

Hello Wai,

I just tested our CC2541EM with BLE-Stack v1.4.2 simple peripheral. With a Samsung S8 (Android 7), I was able to scan, connect and pair with the EM using the BLE Scanner apk.

Are you able to see this problem on a TI CC2541 EVM using the simple peripheral sample app? In some cases, marginal out of spec conditions, such as crystal stability, may result in detection / connection issues on some devices but work on others.

We have found out the bugs from our codes.
