CC2564: Bluetooth dropout issue

Hi TI team,

we are using STM32xx MCU with CC2564B for Bluetooth printer based application.

We are facing bluetooth dropout issue when the data packets of size 40-70 bytes is sent on the UART lines. the same issue doesn't occur when UART lines are connected to Evaluation module for CC2564 ( along with its base board). We initially suspected our slow clock, i tried tapping the slow clock from Eval board and gave it to our Transceiver, but it did not solve our issue. our 26Mhz clock seems to be having a good ppm.

we intially got feedback from TI to disable Sniffer mode from transmitter side, and we have implemented the same. Please let me know if you need any waveforms / log values, i will share it.

Did, you take FW logs from both tests i.e with your module and other with TI evaluation module to check, why the connection is dropping off? If, you have a BT sniffer, it would be good to take Sniffer logs too.

Hi,

I have attached the firmware logs for our module and Eval module both. we dont have a BT sniffer with us, will it help if i take the logs with TI Bluetooth logger?

I see two logs. What is WL1837-BT log?

HI Ti team,

we are using WL1837 to transmit the BT data and CC256x to receive it.

I am happy to tell you that we could root cause the issue. the issue is Clock drift caused by 26Mhz external oscillator that we have used. When we replaced the clock source by a accurate signal generator at 26Mhz, the issue did not occur.

we are using 10ppm Clock by Abracon LLC, ASDMB-26.000MHZ-LY-T, do we need to use crystal only for this clock? Please let us know.
