CC2564MODN: certification questions

Genius 12760 points
Part Number: CC2564MODN

Customer is just before certification and got in advance following questions from the test house Eurofins:

  • Bluetooth classic: Is "enhanced power control" supported by CC2564MODN? If not is there a "power control" function?
  • Bluetooth classic: Does CC2564MODN support "1-slot packets", "3-slot packets" or "5-slot packets"?
  • Bluetooth low energy: Is a "stable modulation index" used for transmitter and/or receiver?

Regards, Bernd

  • Hi,

  • Hello Bernd,

The CC2564MODN module has the CC2564B IC inside. So all these questions and the answers are applicable to all CC2564B devices.

Both the Enhanced Power Control and the power Control features are supported for BR/EDR mode. (Section 1.3.1; Table 1 of the ICS report)

Yes, all 3 packet types are supported in the BR/EDR mode. (Section 1.3.1; Table 1 of the ICS report)

The Stable Modulation Index (BT = 0.5 ± 0.5% ) feature for LE was introduced in Bluetooth Core Specification version 5.0. The CC2564MODN is a Bluetooth 4.1 device. It does not use the Stable Modulation Index, but it meets the Standard Modulation Index (BT = 0.5 ± 1% ) requirements.

For additional reference, the ICS report of the CC2564MODN Controller Subsystem can be found here.
