CC2640R2F: minimum number of channels for TX Power greater than 10dBm

I could not find a clear explanation in the BT 5 standard to whether a minimum number of channel hopping is required when transmitting at power levels that exceed 10dBm (in this case with the help of CC2592). Do you have any knowledge to share about that?

Actually frequency hopping is not required to pass FCC, because the BT5 modulation is more than 500KHz wide. However BT implements a 79 channel hopping scheme (BR/EDR) and 37 channels for LE.

Hi Lenio,

It is correct that the Bluetooth specification does not limit output power to 10 dBm anymore. The maximum output power limits are now set by local regulatory requirements.

In the US you can run at 20 dBm without any requirement on number of channels or hopping as Thomas writes.

In Europe you are still limited to approximately 10 dBm output power.

As a side note, _up_to_ 37 channels used for frequency hopping in BLE. The specification allows the application to reduce this number to just a few channels.
