Hi,
We made a custom board based on CC2541+CC2590 reference design, we have two types of boards that were manufactured together on the same PCB array, the schematics are identical, only the layout is different.
One of the boards works perfectly, the other one works well only with iPhones, the FW is exactly the same on both boards.
In iPhones the advertising packets can be seen down to around -90 RSSI (the RSSI reported by the phone)
In Android phones (we tested several) the advertising packets can be seen down to around -60 RSSI
Measurements with spectrum analyzer shows the output power, frequency, and phase noise are all fine and are the same on both boards.
It is obviously a layout issue, but knowing the difference between the behavior of the iphone and android phones may shed a light on where the problem is.
