BLE5 max range with voice and image transmit

Hi,

In the demo video it is shown that with BLE5 CC2640R2F Board a long range of 1.5 km is achieved at 125Kbps data rate. I would like to know can we transmit voice and image in such scenario?

As per the Bluetooth SIG specifications I saw a CVSD (64kbps input) codec need to be used for voice and HV packets are not supported with CRC/MIC (Message Integrity Check). With these points in view how to achieve real time voice transmission over CC2640R2F Board? Kindly help me to understand this.

Also with same CC2640R2F for PHY code S=8 , it is claimed that at a data rate of 125Kbps a range of 1.6Km can be achieved. Is this the data rate for both Uplink & Downlink data rate?

There is a trade off between range and throughput when using the new PHYs. Please see the documentation for the Throughput & Audio demos on the SimpleLink Github page for more details: github.com/.../ble_examples

Thank you for the reply.
We are planning to work on BLE5 with TI Boards. kindly suggest best board suitable for our requirement.

We need BLE5 Evaluation Board along with either ZigBee or LoRa and debug facility
And also let us how to get IDE

To support BLE5, you should use LAUNCHXL-CC2640R2F and use CCS as IDE. Also, you need CC2640R2 SDK which can be downloaded from www.ti.com/.../SIMPLELINK-CC2640R2-SDK
