CC2541: BLE CC2541 how to connect directly to the laptop Without using dongle

I am using CC2541 and CC2540 (USB dongle) which will communicate with each other and transfers data. I want to know weather i can communicate to CC2541 (ble device) directly without using dongle and connecting to laptop(internal Bluetooth). if i can do this , is there any provision to do this through JAVA or Python? Please give me suggestions, thank-you in advance.

Hi Abhinay,

You can communicate directly to any device which has Bluetooth low energy capability.

Hi Fredrik,
Thank you for your response.Can you please explain how to connect exactly, my issue is my laptop consist of Bluetooth 4.0 and i am able to connect it with directly to laptop, But i am unable to connect with programming like python where i used libraries like pybulez, pygatt,etc..., is there any other way where i can connect the BLE device to laptop directly such that i can make communication between them through programming language. Please give me your suggestion, Thank you in advance

Hi YiKai Chen,
Thank you for your response , the link which you posted contains a set of apps which will connect through Bluetooth dongle, But my issue is i want to connect the CC2541 directly to the laptop (with internal Bluetooth) but not through dongle.

You cannot connect CC2541 directly to desktop. The IO voltage is different from desktop to CC2541. You need to use a level shifter or serial-to-USB cable to connect between PC and CC2541.

Thank you YiKai Chen for your response, But my requirement is i want to connect CC2541 to laptop and transfer data via internal Bluetooth. I am able to detect and pair device(CC2541) to laptop directly, but i am unable to transfer data or establish communication between them.

I understand your inquiry now. However, I have no idea about what is BLE chip on your PC and it's out of scope of this forum. I suggest you to ask this question on other forum such as StackOverFlow.
