CC2640R2F: GPIO max current

Hello,
I found the max GPIO DC current is max 8mA (d/s page 25). Customer wants to switch capacities (1nF). That may lead that the peak current will be >8mA. Could that be a problem?

Hi Holger,

Can you elaborate a little on what you are trying to do? Connect one or more capacities to a GPIO? A drawing would be nice.
If that isn't available I would need information on duration, frequency and value of those peak currents?

Hi Holger,

It's difficult to say for sure without knowing the duration, frequency and value of those peak currents.

Generally a short current peak slightly above 8mA should not be a problem. The only thing is that VOH will be lower during that current peak.
