CC2564MODN: Does it required additional certification from Bluetooth and FCC for final evaluation?

Dear expert,

 I  want to launch a low level RF energy consuming device Bluetooth (already FCC approved from Texas Instrument - 2.4 GHZ band and QDID: 64631) into our mobile application to connect mobile device ((Read, write, save, export data etc.)  to our any equipment/ device via. Bluetooth ( FCC approved module ID# Z64-2564N ).

 

Based on my findings, Bluetooth (BT) SIG standard has to be met and FCC required DoC after fulfilling your requirement but not sure it will be applicable to this already approved product for our final application into our device's connectivity.

 

Does additional testing (EMC and software qualification)  involved if we integrate / use FCC approved TI Bluetooth module on our inverter/ converter device to connect via. mobile application?

 

FCC part 15 rules, Industry Canada  and European EN 300328 are harmonized standard to meet the BT requirement, right?

 

Do we need to do any additional  testing from accredited lab to declare DoC as required by FCC ? Do we have to have separate registration with FCC for our final functional application?

    For an approved module that has FCC and CE, there are different rules that apply.

    1) To re-use any certification you need to ensure that you are following the integrators guide. In general that means using the approved antenna (if it is the MODN) and the rules for laying out the antenna. If this changes, then you will need to do a permissive change where you may need to retest some items
    2) For FCC I do not believe you need to do any additional testing, however you will still need to file your own paper work (C1PC). This is basically indicating that you have followed the integrators guide. It is still best that you check with a regulator house on this as ultimately we cannot be the judge if your product meets all the regulator rules. That is up to the customer (and thus use a lab to guide you).
    3) if you integrate the module with a WWAN device (LTE, GSM, etc), the modular certification does not hold and you will need to re do testing.
    4) For CE you must meet emissions at the system level. That means you that even though CE is harmonized, at the system level, you still need to test and show passing results to that.
