CC2640R2F: how to edit the data rate in BLE 4.x stack advertisement example code

Hello,

Is it possible to change the data rate in BLE 4.x version or is it fixed to 1 Mbps. If so, can you suggest the possible mechanism to do that.

Hi Prateek,

Bluetooth 4.x only supports the 1 Mbps PHY (physical layer). If you want to switch to the 2 Mbps PHY, you have to use Bluetooth 5 (BLE5-Stack). You can read more about PHYs in the LE 2M PHY Simplelink Academy lab: dev.ti.com/.../

Thanks Marie, I was looking for codec phy sort of implementation to explore increased range performance. Do u have update For the timeline of codec phy BLE 5 mode. Can u also share some implementation to evaluate the codec phy mode. Regards Prateek

Hi Prateek,

Do you mean Coded PHY? You can request the Simplelink CC2640R2 SDK with the latest version of the BLE5-Stack here: www.ti.com/.../SIMPLELINK-CC2640R2-SDK

This software is just for evaluation. In it you will find example projects that use the Coded PHY.

If you just want to use the 2Mbps PHY you should use the Simplelink CC2640R2 SDK 1.40.
