Hi There,
I am branching out from the world of msp430's. So I will be looking at the academy sources on Ti-RTOS and Bluetooth Simplelink material to learn more about this. I have got the CC2640R2_LAUNCHXL ble5apps throughput examples running and monitored the power consumption. It was interesting to observe that it doesn't vary when adjusting physical layer data rate and PDU size - but I think the sensitivity varies which makes sense (and chances of collisions).
Question - this is running at full wack. How easy and how might I go about reducing the data rate the example is attempting to send. With PDU 251B and 2Mbps Physical layer rate you can get into the 1Mbps throughput. I only require 250kbps - 500kbps. Ideally, the device would sit in the lowest power state possible i.e. be transmitting only 25-50% of the time of the example. 17mA is not unreasonable power consumption, but I am really concerned with the tradespace between throughput and power consumption. Will also be experimenting with the sense controller to see how it compares to the msp430.
Many thanks and merry Christmas/Happy new year to the community,
Best Regards,
James
