CC2650MODA: Bonding Key

Part Number: CC2650MODA

Hello,

I am using the CC2650MODA with bonding enabled. I would like to find out which Link Key my master device is using for my slaves.
I must enter the Link key into my Bluetooth Protocoll Analyzer Sofrware to record data.

  • Hello Tobias,

It's actually the slave's LTK that is used to derive the session key used for LL encryption. The keys are stored in the bond manager and there is no direct API to retrieve them directly. If you look at the GAP Bond Manager source code, you can see how it's managed.

Why does your sniffer require this? Most can figure out the key if LE Legacy Pairing is used. If using LESC, you can use the debug ECC keys which allow most v4.2 capable sniffers to likewise derive the key.

    Best wishes
