LAUNCHXL-CC2640R2: Question on HCI xml script (incl. VS commands) for use with CC2640R2 host_test example and HCI Tester

Hi!

I have some basic questions related to CC2640R2 when used with the host_test example in the SDK. Specifically I would like to know:

1. Is there a HCITesterXML file for use with HCITester where the xml supports CC2640R2 (i.e. any VS commands for CC2640R2 etc)?

2. Which version of the HCI Tester is the applicable one to use today, is 3.0.0.37 from 2015 is the relevant version?

3. HCI Tester cannot be used in an automated environment being remote (e.g. executed via command line interface), or?

4. Where can I find useful script files (.bts) for use with HCITester? For example scripts for initializations for central role, peripheral role etc?

5. Are there any other scripts available for use for stability testing (e.g. for use in a automated test environment)?

6. How about support for Python, are there any scripts for HCI if using CC2640R2 (here I assume a setup based on python for automation)?

Hello,

1. Yes, the XMLs have been uploaded to this page processors.wiki.ti.com/.../LPRF_BLE_HCITester
2. The most recent version on the page above is acceptable, the key part is that the XML file matches the SDK that you are using
3. I will follow up with our test team on this.
4. We do not provide HCI tester example scripts. However, the XML set gives guidance on how to use the various parameters in the APIs and the API set is nearly identical to the embedded calls. I would recommend looking at simple central or peripheral and trying to mimmick their initialization procedures.
5. HCI tester is used by TI internally but we do not publish our test scripts
6. We do not have a Python library that supports the host_test, but it is possible to create one.
