CC2541: What data is contained in advertising data from the peripheral device

I want to know whether MAC id of cc2541 device and bluetooth device name is contained in advertisement data. if so how can i retrieve it in the central device at the time of discovery.

Hello,

The advertisement data format is set by the peripheral device that is advertising, for example in the case of Simple BLE Peripheral this is set by the advertData and the scanRspData (for active scanning)

You can read this data by scanning for devices from an observer device, see GAPCentralRole_StartDiscovery()

which api returns the advertisement/ scan response data? i need to retrieve the devices mac id from the advertisement data and store it inside the SNV of cc2541 for future use.

Hello,

Take a look at GAP_DEVICE_INFO_EVENT and the gapDeviceInfoEvent_t. You can extract the address from the scan results using this field.
