SIMPLELINK-CC2640R2-SDK: Is Offchip OAD on launchxl-cc2640r2 only possible using Btool?

Hello,

I'm working on multirole project on stack simplelink_cc2640r2_sdk_1_40_00_45, XDC tools 3.50.4.43.

On the previous stack 1.35 OAD was possible using TI starter app and TI USB BLE Dongle but once I have shifted to stack 1.40 OAD can only be done through Btool.

I have tried TI CC2540 Dongle to do OAD but its not possible we get CRC error always but I haven't tried the starter app yet.

Anyone seen this?

Please advice.

    Hi,

    No, you can implement the Enhanced OAD profile on any BT4.0 (LE) Client using the published OAD specification. Our legacy OAD tools have not been updated but the latest SimpleLink Starter iOS/Play store apps, in addition to BTool, have been updated to use this profile for demonstration on our CC2642R wireless MCU.

    Please refer to the OAD specification in the SDK for more details.
