Greetings,

I am developing a BLE product that relates to motion control, one of the application's requirement is to have each product come with a unique passcode (for bonding) to ensure security. Is there a way to change passcode (not by accessing the source code) when loading the firmware into the chip, is there any GUI solution?

I don't know what direction to go.

We don't have the solution you are looking for, but you can either
1. Implement UART on top of you application and then control the passcode through terminal.
2. Use the TRNG driver to generate random passcode for each device.

Hello Chirstin,

If you generate random passcode, how would you know which device comes with what passcode?

Why do you need to know? If you know the passcode beforehand, then it's not secure anymore.
The master device can decide which slave to connect to by checks in the application layer(you can do device name, device address, or even certain advertising data).

Hi Christine,

This application will need to use mobile app and the users would like to restrict access into the product by having them knowing the passcode only. I am trying to implemented simpleNV storage and it seems to be a good idea, somehow I am having issue using UART to write into a variable and register it into the NV storage.
