CC2642R: OAD off chip witth RCOSC

Hi,

We are developing application based on the SBP OAD off chip.

I got noticed that there is no configuration for using the RC_OSC in this example project. (IN the SBP example we can find the configuration and it is works ok)

Is there any reason for that ? How can I use the RC_OSC in the SBP OAD project ?

Hello,

There is nothing preventing the use of the RCOSC configuration with the OAD examples.
This configuration is not provided out of box, but you may create it.

I recommend adding the code from the SBP RCOSC application into the SBP example.
Namely this is project configuration settings a new CCFG file.

Ok thanks.

I dont need the 32khz clock. Is that correct?

I corrently using board witout 32khz clock. And configure the rcosc. In that case it should work?

Hello,

Assuming that there are no other hardware issues, yes it should work correctly.
Here is an app note that explains RCOSC useage. Note it is a bit dated (for CC2640R2) but the same concepts should apply.

Hi,
I performed the changes according to the file you mentioned.
The results are:
1) SBP with RC_OSC configuration works as required --> we can see the advertising and the connection is OK.
2) After adding the RC_OSC configuration to the SBP_OAD according to the file, we be able to see the advertising but the connection failed.

** I used the TI Example code for SBP_OAD_off_chip and I just added the RC_OSC configuration.
Do you have any idea why we cant be able to connect ? Is it known issue ?

** We are using SDK 1_60_00_43 with CC2642.

Hello,

This is not a known issue, and the configuration should work.

Do you have any more information regarding #2 above? How exactly is the connection failing? Do you have a sniffer capture? What error code do you get on the device?
