CC2540: CC2540: Android 8.x.x(Oreo) can't find CC2540 devices at all

Part Number: CC2540

Hello,

After android OS update(7.x.x Nougat to 8.x.x Oreo), android pixel phone cannot find the CC2540 devices.

Android versions 7.x devices can find it.

Used sniffer to look into the data packets and it looks well formed. Do not see any malformed data.

Below is the advertisement frame captured in sniffer. Please help.

Hi Priya,

Can you send a sniffer capture of your scan response data? From a quick Google search, it appears that malformed scan response data is the cause of a lot of similar issues. Another common cause is performing a background scan.

Hi Priya,

It looks like your scan response data is too long. The max size it can be is 31 bytes total including headers. This means the size you are limited to at the application level is 23 bytes (headers removed). Can you try removing Slave Connection Interval Range data and try again?

Hi Priya,

I also think the length of the Slave Connection Interval Range may be incorrect. This could also cause issues with the Android device. Make sure you are using the correct lengths for each part of the scan response data. There may be some parsing issues otherwise.
