One gateway (CC2640r2f) is at central mode and non-expected entry Suspend. The replication process is as follows:

1. Use SDK 1.50.00.71 , define xpower_saving , running in CCS 's Debug Mode .

2. It is connection with another tag (2640r2f) which is in 1.50.00.71 Peripheral

3. Lengthen the distance between the two units until disconnected.

4. After disconnection, let the gateway (central) scan again and shorten the distance until connected.

5. Repeat 3~4 times, (<15 times ) , the Central does not response.

6.We pause at this Debug Mode , and get Call Trace as shown in the attachment file.

Please help check the cause.Thanks.

Do you enable auto connect in the simple_central project? If not, can you show code snippet regarding how the auto connect so we can reproduce it with exactly what you have.

1. Auto start scan after power on
2. When event SC_EVT_SCAN_DISABLED occurs, connect to specified peripheral (recognize it by MAC) automatically
3. If specified peripheral is not found, auto restart scan

Whitelist is disabled since We don’t know what it is.

For whitelist, we just use default setting and cannot sure it is enable or disable.

Have you reproduced our issue? I check our engineer that whitelist is disable.

You mention SDK 1.50.00.71, where did you get that?
The latest is simplelink_cc2640r2_sdk_1_50_00_58. Have you tested with that version?

We must support BT5.0 500K function. Does the implelink_cc2640r2_sdk_1_50_00_58 support it?

Hello Michael,
My mistake. No Simplelink_cc2640r2_sdk_1_50_00_58 does not support ble5. I will test on SDK 1.50.00.71.
How did you configure the peripheral?
Did you enable coded advertisements only?

Hello Michael,
I was able to run the code, but I had to disable duplicate scan result filter to be able to reconnect after lost connection between master and slave.

I have been able to reproduce issues by simply resetting the peripheral every time it forms a connection. I enabled HEAPMGR_METRICS as described in the BLE5-Stack User's Guide, debugging chapter, Debugging Common Heap Issues section. There seems to be some issues related to heap in this case, but I am not able to trace the issue yet.

Did you notice the issue after some specific part of your implementation?

Hello Michael,

We found a bug in simple_central.c -> SimpleCentral_processAppMs. pMsg was freed twice which would corrupt the heap and eventually the application would crash. Please try to change pMsg to pMsg->pData as shown in the code snippet below and verify if this solves your issue.

Dear Eirik
For central end issue, we find your suggestion has been solved this central end. However, right now, the peripheral end became very easy fail (no response) after Repeat 4-5 times by original steps. If we use clean code (without g-sensor algorithm code ) on simple peripheral + simple central, we need to repeat more than 20 times to reproduce the issue. Is it related to memory ? We use CC2640R2F EVB board as the peripheral end.

Taiwan WPI’s FAE can also reproduce the issue on CC2640R2F EVB board.

As this is an evaluation version only, there are several bugs in this SDK. We are currently working on the next release that should be much more stable. For now you can try to go through the "Debugging Common Heap Issues" in the CC2640R2F SDG to verify if there are problems with the heap.
