Hello,

Can you tell me what the maximum MTU size is for the TI CC2640R2F?

Do the TI CC2541 SDK and the TI CC2640R2F SDK have a lot of similarities? A customer will be switching to the latter and wants to get a sense of the magnitude of the change he will be facing.

A: Most reference projects in the CC254x SDK have been ported to CC2640. Please refer to CC2640 BLE SW Developer’s Guide porting section for additional information on porting. Although most of the BLE-Stack APIs have remained the same, the amount of porting effort required will vary depending on the complexity of the existing application.

Hi Katie,

Thank you for the above, the migration guides were very helpful.

Regarding MTU, they were not asking about the ATT_MTU. In the CC2541 dev kit what they are referring to is defined by the following line of code.

#define L2CAP_MTU_SIZE 23 //!< Minimum supported information payload for the Basic information frame (B-frame)

Most newer BLE implementations use a larger size than this for increased throughput.

The default is 23, the same as the older device. But, you can find information on how to configure the stack to support a larger value here: dev.ti.com/.../l2cap.html
