CCS/LAUNCHXL-CC2650: how to start coding in CCS?

Hi all,

I was given CC2650 Launchpad and asked to understand the coding process in CCS to apply it to another project. I downloaded CCS V8 to my mac and to tried to open the coding page but couldn't.

I started with project zero and was able to connect the chip to my phone and control the led. but I do not know how to open/ create/ write a code for a new project.

Is there resources that could help me with the coding? how do I open a project?

The best way to start is by using one of our examples and modifying them. Here are our example for the CC2650

You can also follow our simplelink academies, which willl walk you through the process of getting some specific tasks done, here are some simplelink academies for the CC2640 (very similar device)

But how do I import these project to CCS app in my computer? do I copy/paste code OR import it somehow to the CCS?

Hello,

You can open the "View" tab in CCS and press on Resource explorer. From here just look for the example and click on the import button.

I did press on Resource explorer classic but didn't see any examples. All I saw is one icon (

There are two resource explorer when you go to view, RESOURCE EXPLORER and RESOURCE EXPLORER Classic. You should select RESOURCE EXPLORER instead of RESOURCE EXPLORER Classic.

This is the problem. I do not have resource explorer choice in the menu. please see the picture below

Oops. Don’t know why it doesn’t have this on Mac OS. Anyway, you can access to it from browser by inputting http://dev.ti.com/tirex/#/
