CC2640R2F: Project Zero BLE 5

Hi,

I had imported project zero application with BLE 5 Stack from Simplelink_Academy_CC2640r2sdk_1_13_03_11 and i couldn't found any difference in the range, The device is adverting as BLE 4.2 range with transmission power of +5db. I Need to increase my BLE advertising range min of 500mtrs (LOS). Please any one help me in this issue.

Hi Vijay,

Did you see the ble 5 simple peripheral example project? Simple Peripheral advertises both on LE 1M PHY and LE Coded PHY per default.

Hi Marie,

I have to gone through ble 5 simple peripheral because i developed my project from project zero and now i want upgrade it to BLE 5. Is there any similar option in project zero?

Hi Vijay,

Yes you can add LE Coded PHY advertising to Project Zero. You can use the same APIs as are used i simple peripheral.

Hi Marie,

Can you please explain in brief how to do LE Coded PHY advertising to Project Zero and where i can view the whether my device is running on BLE 5 or BLE 4.2 ?

Hi Vijay,

If you're using the BLE5-Stack your device is per definition running Bluetooth 5.

You can try looking at the BLE Scanning and Advertising lab for CC26x2 (link: dev.ti.com/.../ ). We haven't updated this for CC2640R2F yet, but the API calls should be more or less the same.
