CC2650: Internal DC-DC Inductor selection

Hello,

As I can see the recommended part numbers of the inductor associated with the internal DC-DC regulator of CC2650 are:

  • MLZ1608N100LT000
  • CKS2125100M-T

However I am not able to find any documentation about the concrete specifications this part must have, more than being 10uH. The problem we face is that there seems to be some issues with the stock of these parts, so I would like to know how to select an alternative part.

    Thank you for pointing me to the other thread, however I can not find the kind of information I am seeking. As I can see there is a person asking for an alternative part to CKS2125100M-T, and the answer is to use the MLZ1608N100LT000. 

    I am aware of both of them, but I would like to know about the specifications I need to check to be able to select another part, since I am not able to obtain any of these two due to stock issues.

    Looking at the datasheets of both parts it seems that the specifications are similar:

    Inductance 10uH +- 20% 10uH +- 20%

    Rated current 0.11 A 0.3 A

    I am not sure of the rated current of MLZ1608N100LT000, because I do not know for sure if it refers to the saturation current or the max current the device can whithstand without being damaged. The datasheet is:

    I am guessing for now that the inductor should be 0805 with a rated DC resistance of about 0.5 - 0.6 ohm and a rated current higher than 0.11 A. Is that correct?

  • As long as the characteristics are similar you should be fine.
    MLZ1608N100LT000:
    Maximum DC Current: 0.3 A
    Current - Saturation 60mA
