CCS/CC2642R: CCS8 ROV Exception

Part Number: CC2642R

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

When running the SimplePeripheral example for the CC26x2 Launchpad, the Code Composer Studio ROV tool gives an exception when trying to view Tasks (see below).

My setup is:
CC26x2R1 Launchpad Rev. 1.0.1
SimpleLink CC26x2 SDK 2.10.0.44
Code Composer Studio 8.0.0.00016

They have not made any changes to the SimplePeripheral example.

Any ideas on what is causing this?

  • Hi Mark,

I suspect this may be the same issue from this earlier thread: e2e.ti.com/.../2555737 If you check that section in the BLE Dev Guide (albeit for your particular SDK version for CC26x2 but I believe the same applies) it basically says to use ROV2 instead of ROV Classic, or it provides an optional workaround.

    Regards,
    Katie
  • Hi Katie,

Unfortunately this did not resolve the customer's issue.  See customer response below.  Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Mark

I am using ROV2. (The menu option selected is Runtime Object View and not ROV Classic.) I don’t think this is a timeout issue which appears to be what is described in the thread.

If I step through the code, the exception first occurs in main() during the ICall_CreateRemoteTasks function. After running it again this morning, the exception is shown below along with the data in memory at the location.
