Hi All,

We have developed a product based on CC2640R2 chip (running TI BLE4.2 SDK 1.4) and we have to offer OTA service so customers so that they are able to update product's firmware locally by means of Android and IOS devices. We attempted to develop our own Android/IOS applications based on TI Android/IOS reference code, which is rather old and not up to date to support TI latest BLE SDK. So far we are not able to deliver a working OTA Apps. I am wondering if TI could release OTA library that works on both Android/IOS devices, so we could build our App based on it. As far as OTA APP is concerned, we have verified that TI's latest version of sensor tag application available at Apple Appstore is working extremely well. Is it possible for TI to open its source code, so we can incorporate its OTA code portion to our own code?

Have you seen the Over the Air Download (OAD) section in the BLE-stack User's Guide?

This is from CC2640R2 SDK v1.50.00.58:

Hi Edvard,
We do not have issue on device side.. Indeed, we need OTA library running on Android/IOS devices, so as to facilitate firmware upload to BLE device over mobile phone. The existing Android/IOS OTA App reference code that we found on the web doesn't support latest SDK released by TI. Therefore we want to check if TI can release the most updated App source code for Android/IOS platform.

Hi Peter,

I'm sorry to say that we cannot release the entire app source code.

Good news though, we have developed a iOS CocoaPod for the enhanced OAD (If you are running CC2640R2 with BLE 4.2 this is the OAD you are running)

We have also developed an Android module for android which also supports enhanced OAD.

These have been made to be as easy as possible to integrate into a customer iOS/Android application.

These libraries are going to be released on git.ti.com this week if everything goes after plan.

Hi Peter !

The OAD libraries for iOS are now live on git.ti.com and can be used directly from cocoapods in the Podfile by adding a pod with the name "ti_oad"
