CC2650MODA: Question about FCC certification

Part Number: CC2650MODA
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS61046

Dear Community,

We use the CC2650MODA for my products.  Around the Bluettoth SIG declaration is everything clear, but in the FCC/IC "part" is not. And we have a few question.

1. Our first product is a Beacon application, where we use the CC2650MODA and other passive components. (Lipo charger, external flash, LDO) We dont change any RF component, I use a BLE 2.02. The datasheet mentioned in Chapter 6.13 End Product Labelling "The host system using this module must display a visible label indicating the following text". So please help us. Is this enough indicating the FCC and IC ID or we must send to a test lab our end product to test that? Or what is this process?

2. Our second product is almost same, but in this we have a DC/DC boost (TPS61046) with 1 MHz switching frequency, and other passive components. The question is the same, but I think is a dcdc can couse problem, so i separate them.

Thank for any information or  answers.

Best regard,

Richard

  • The module itself is laser marked with the FCC and IC ID. If you add a casing to your product the ID will not be visible so you then need to add visible label. When using the module the radio is certified so you don't have to go through that again. The module is also EMC tested, but what you need to do, however, is to do EMC testing at the system level. The same is true for both 1) and 2) above.
  • Thank for answer, and sorry for my late response, but i am out of office.

    I have another questions.

1, So we need a regular EMC test. The question is, is necessary with "certificated" FCC lab, or any other lab is right choose for us. If need the FCC lab, can you give us any recommendation?

2, We run an EMC measure (EN 55032:2015 EMC) with local lab for CE marking (Hungary), and I would like to know, this measurement report is enough for cover the "regular EMC testing" for cover FCC requirement?

    Thank for answer

    Best regards,
    Richard
  • (Just back from vacation): You need to run separate measurements for FCC and EN. That is, EN 55032:2015 EMC does not cover FCC.
The testing should be done at a certified test house. Unfortunately I am not familiar with any test houses close to where you are located.
