CCS/CC2650STK: Which version of XDC-Tools using

Hello,

I am using CCS 8.0.0.00016 with TiRTOS 2.20.01.18 and XDCTools 3.32.00.06

I develop an application for the sensortag base on the BLE SDK 2.02.01.18.

I would like to know if it is possible (and recommanded) to upgrade to XDCTools 3.32.01.22 since it looks like it is correcting some of the java compilation bug I have ?

If yes what is the process to upgrade without breaking everything ?

I would suggest you to consider to upgrade to use ble_sdk_2_02_02_25 instead of BLE SDK 2.02.01.18.

Please use CCS 7.4 with the ble_sdk_2_02_02_25 release as described in the release notes (Dependencies):

Why do you recommend CCS 7.4 and not CCS8.0 or even the recent CCS 8.1 ?

Hello I based my application on the sensortag source in ble-sdk-2.02.01.18.
I fear that porting to 2.01.02.25 might break everything because of hidden changes.
And my application has to be delivered soon.

Also I think that ble-sdk-2.02.02.25 is based on XDCTools 3.32.00.06 not on 3.32.01.22.
Do you know the reason for that ?

I don’t know the reason but I suppose every SDK release would use the latest TI RTOS and XDC tool during release. Later, there would be new RTOS or XDC tool release and I don’t think you have to update them. Do you have any specific reason to update them? Since your product has to be delivered soon, I suggest you not to update TI RTOS and XDCTool if it is not mandatory.
