Hi,

I am trying to create simple peripherel project with UART. I've referred processors.wiki.ti.com/.../CC2640_NPI_UART_ECHO_EXAMPLE and build program. But i'm getting error "error #20: identifier "appSem" is undefined" and if remove appSem then multiple linking errors are coming..

Can anyone pls look attached code and help me to resosimple_peripherel_cc2640_UART_Echo.ziplve issue.

Hi Maverick,

First of all you should not need to add in npi_task.[c/h] into the "Application" folder as they already are located inside "npi" folder. Try to remove these and make sure the main.c file link to the correct header (npi/inc/npi_task.h) and see if it compiles.

As said i've removed npi_task.c/h and included header but now there is new error as shown in below image. Attached code.7080.simple_peripherel_cc2640_UART_Echo.zip

There seem to be a difference between the wiki zip files and the ones already in the project. You need to go into npi_task.c and remove the static declaration off appSem. You will also need to include the semaphore header file inside main.c:

#include <ti/sysbios/knl/Semaphore.h>

i've tried this but not change and i removed appSem then multiple errors are popping up. Do you have code with simpleperipheral & npi UART code integrated.

Hi Maverick,

You should not remove appSem itself, just the "static" part in front of it. You could also move the whole "appSem = ..." part into the npi_task.c file, put it at the end of "NPITask_createTask()".

Where are these references done in your code? Typically this is because you are missing a file in your project, you would have to find which files are missing and include these.

Just out of curiosity, is there a particular reason you want to use the NPI for UART and that you don't simply implement your own UART task?

i've already tried simple uart but in that BLE used to get hang due to which i wanted to evaluate NPI UART.

And i've just added code as mentioned in wiki nothing else.

i've been trying to implement NPI uart since last week. Can you pls help !!!

When you say you tried "simple uart", is this your own implementation or some example you picked up somewhere?
Generally I would suggest you did not use the NPI but instead tried to get UART up from scratch:

1) Create a Interface task with low priority.
2) Insert UART Blocking mode echo example in to the task function.

If you want to continue trying with NPI, have a look at this wiki as well:

Keep in mind that both of these are for CC2640 (not R2) and are pretty old, so it is not guaranteed to be working on the newer SDK in the same way.
