CC2640R2F: CC2640R2FYFV Update over the Air using Android

Hi Sir,

I want to make wearable device using CC2640R2FYFV(part number). I have studied the datasheets and basic details. I am experienced Embedded Programmer but newbie for BLE. I am unable to understand the loading of firmware. I have mass production so I am using Pick n Place for PCBs.

So could you please provide detailed procedure for updating firmware for CC2640R2F using Mobile. Can I able to load firmware directly on IC using Mobile App during Mass production.

Hi Evan,

Actually I am planning to make least size flexible PCB less than 5x5 mm using CC2640r2f DSBGA package. So I want to use least components as well as connectors that increases my PCB size.

Now I have read that to update using OAD, OAD service must be installed in firmware. My question is If I will develop application on evaluation board, am I able to download that firmware using mobile app without using JTAG or uart? If there is another method to do the same, please help me out.

Tarun,

I do not recommend that you solely rely on OADing your evaluation board through a mobile app. I typically want to have at least one other way to access the device, whether JTAG or UART during eval.
