Hello TI,

We need to have reference design CC2541 bluetooth pair and connect with built in Bluetooth on laptop instead of dongle.

How can I achieve this? Is there a paper to assist me with this process.

Can you clarify what you mean? You want a reference design of a CC2541 built into a laptop?

The current reference design talks to a dongle. We instead like to replace the dongle with the bluetooth built in the laptop

Dr. Muh,

To clarify, you have a application that uses a CC2541 that you currently use in conjunction with a CC2540 USB dongle and you wish to use the bluetooth on the laptop?

If this is the case, and you need a starting point for a PC example + CC2541, you might reference here:

To be clear, we do not actively support application development on a PC side, this forum only supports code on the TI MCU's so if you have extended questions beyond the PC examples provide above, you will need to ask on another forum like Stack Overflow.

I’ve found examples of CC2541 connecting to IPad without the use of a dongle. How can We connect direct to an android?

Is this possible?

I suppose the same example connecting to iPad can also connect to Andriod.

Hello,

You can use Microsoft Xamarin to connect to both iOS, android and Windows 10. Xamarin is a C# add on that is very powerful and easy to use. It is important to note that direct connections to Windows Bluetooth LE is restricted to version 8.5 and above. That is one reason why people use the 2541 dongle. There is a HCI driver that simplifies app development and you can use Visual basic to connect to it fairly easily.
