CC2640R2F: Real TX power and RX Sensitivity with R,L,C matching network

Part Number: CC2640R2F

Dear h/w expertise:

1. We need compare the TX and RX performance of CC2640R2F with R,L,C matching compared to Balun. As w can NOT find detail data on literature, could you help provide detail measurement data as below. Thanks.

  • The numbers in the CC2640R2 datasheet in measured on an EM with discrete LC balun. The datasheet contains both sensitivity and harmonics numbers which could be used to compare with the numbers in the app note.
  • TER,

Thanks for the quick reply. I don't know if i missed any part in data sheet, The question for me from datasheet is The TX power specified in datasheet is 5dBm when we set maximum output power. And the graphics showed for VDD, Temp variance is also similiar.

Can you confirm that when we set TX power to maximum 5dBm, afte the discrete Balun, it's still 5dBm.

You can refer to the results with integrated Balun for compare. Their is attenuation after the Balun? Thanks.

  • The data stated in the datasheet is measured at the SMA connector (after the baluin). The same is the data from the app note meaning that you can compare directly.
  • TER,

I am disappoint of the perfunctory reply. I went through the datasheet and can only find a typical value of 5dBm when TX power is set to maximum. I don't find any of customer can archive 5dBm at the SMA side with 5dBm TX settig.  Could you be direct on what page we specify the detail data??????  Had you take a second to see the picture i attached?????? Please direct let me know if we do NOT have?????

  • Under test conditions in the datasheet it's stated
    5.9: "Differential mode, delivered to a single-ended 50-Ω load through a balun"

5.8: "Differential mode. Measured at the CC2650EM-5XD SMA connector, BER = 10–3 "

All the measurements in the datasheet are performed using the SMA connector since this is the only 50 ohm point on the EM.

I'm not sure if I understand "I don't find any of customer can archive 5dBm at the SMA side with 5dBm TX settig". As stated in the datasheet the highest power setting gives 5 dBm out on the SMA connector.
  • TER, If i follow your way, if 5dBm is on SMA connector? What's the detail highest power setting? what's the dBm?
  • What do you mean? The SMA connector is the only valid place to measure output power.
