IAR compiler version for CC2540

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2540

Hi

We want to purchase the IAR compiler which can be used for CC2540 but on the IAR website it's kinda confusing which version works with this chip.

On the 8051 page (http://www.iar.com/ew8051) the last version is 7.60.

If I choose to go to TI wireless evaluation version the version is 7.51A (downloaded the 30 day version which works well with the patch EW8051-7.51L-EV.zip).

What I would like to know what version should we purchase to have 100% support for CC2540 or it doesn't matter - both 7.60 and 7.51 works well?

Sorry if my question is kinda stupid - never used the IAR compiler and it's kinda expensive to just buy a version what I can't use for my needs :)

regards,

B.

  • I've been using the 7.51A, but I did get notification that 7.60 should work also.

IAR has recently (on/after Oct 5th) released two patches for the EW8051-7.60 toolset. The 7.60.4 patch adds support for the CC2540 and other changes. The 7.60.5 patch fixes some compiler bugs.
