CC2640R2F: VDDR Recharge pulse

Part Number: CC2640R2F

Dear Champs,

After I study below apps note for recharge pluse, I found it seems like need a few more recharge pulses for long standby interval.

My problem is how long standby interval need one recharge pulse?

If you have any suggestion, please feel free to let me know.

Thanks a lot.

  • There is no fix answer regarding this question. The device will recharge when it's needed. If you have more leakage current during standby(leakage from IO configuration...etc), then it will recharge more often.
  • Dear Christin,

Does this recharge current result in more higher power consumption?
Customer ask it is our special technology for standby mode?
Because they measure other competitor for beacon event to compare the performance, other one do not see this recharge current.
Or we need to ask cortex-M wake up then we can send beacon event? (I guess...but it still need team's comment)

If you have any comment, please feel free to let me know.
    Thanks a lot.
  • Hi Janet,

The Standby current values listed in the datasheet include recharge pulses. As you can see from the application note the current consumption between the pulses is <100 nA so the average is thus just above 1 uA with the pulses.

    Cheers,
    Fredrik
  • Dear Fredrik,

    Thanks for your explanation.
I have saw "6.8 Power Management" and study this apps note again, it only need few recharge current for long standby interval.
    Thanks a lot.
