Hello,

Our product need make bqb certification.

Our project is based on the demo cc2650rc, sdk version is 2.02.01,

the quetion is as below, LLVersNr:Reserved[7] , it means BLE core_v4.1, not v4.2,

as core_v4.1 bqb certification will not be accepted on Jan, 2019,

Is there any way to change the ble core version to V4.2.

on ti wiki, 2.2.x means V4.2, why our project is still at V4.1 version.

Hi Hongxuan,

BLE Stack 2.2.1 is qualified under BT Core Spec 4.2.

VersNr=6 means BLE4.0 , VersNr=7 means BLE4.1 VersNr=8 means BLE4.2

you say BLE Stack 2.2.1 is qualified under BT Core Spec 4.2, and how I could change this VersNr,
I think this is in your ble stack.

my question is how to change LLVersNr not that ti has V4.2 QDID.

see the below fuction in ll.h. verNum return 7 which means support V4.1, not V4.2.

extern llStatus_t LL_ReadLocalVersionInfo( uint8 *verNum,
uint16 *comId,
uint16 *subverNum );

if you can't change this verNum, please tell me. I need the sure message to tell the certification authority.

Hi Hongxuan,

Can you explain how you are calling this function? You are not really supposed to use it, and it is not required for certification. I have notified the stack developers though so they can check if the return value is correct or not.

Either way, the information you need to certify is found in the links I provided earlier. As you can see, the BLE Stack 2.2.1 is officially certified for BT 4.2.

Thanks a lot for your help. I don't call this function but I catch the airlog and the LL_version returned as below

Control Pkt: LL_VERSION_IND
LLVersNr: Bluetooth Core Specification 4.1
CompId: Texas Instruments Inc.
SubVersNr: 0x0221

I think SubVersNr: 0x0221 means SDK2.2.1? Is that right?

Hi Hongxuan,

Ok, understood. Someone will look into that. It is anyway not important for your qualification. The key thing is that our stack is qualified according to BT 4.2 spec as you can see from the BT listing I linked to earlier.

Thanks, Since this ll_version affect the certification process. I need the sure message that ll_version can be modified or not. if ll_version is in ROM, please tell me.

besides, I have told the certificaton authority to check if it has V4.2 features.

Hongxuan,

This is not important for the certification process. Please read through the wiki article I linked to further up on how to certify. Note that all 4.2 features are supported in the stack, but it is optional to use them.
