Part Number: CC2640R2F
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2640, , SIMPLELINK-CC2640R2-SDK, BLE-STACK
Tool/software: Code Composer Studio
Hy,
after using CC2640 for quite some time and some projects we start to develop the first application with the CC2640R2F, mainly to get rid of the external memory for OAD.
I am a bit confused about the documentation and the versioning of necessary SDK.
On http://www.ti.com/tool/SIMPLELINK-CC2640R2-SDK I find a SIMPLELINK-CC2640R2-SDK in version v2.20.00.49. That is probably the correct one, right?
I kind of miss the updated swru393. The latest is version "e" which does not cover 2640R2, right?
Instead, there is an html based Users Guide in C:/ti/simplelink_cc2640r2_sdk_2_20_00_49/docs/blestack/ble_user_guide/html/ble-stack-3.x-guide/index.html or at
http://software-dl.ti.com/simplelink/esd/simplelink_cc2640r2_sdk/2.20.00.49/exports/docs/blestack/ble_user_guide/html/ble-stack-3.x-guide/index.html
Is that what replaces the swru393 Users Guide?
In these html documents it reads "BLE-Stack 3.02.00.00". What is version 3.02.00.00 and how does it relate to v2.20.00.49?
But of course, there is also
http://dev.ti.com/tirex/content/simplelink_cc2640r2_sdk_2_20_00_49/docs/ble5stack/ble_user_guide/html/ble-stack-5.x-guide/index-cc2640.html
Is that good, too? The "BLE5" in the name, does that relate to BLE5 vs BLE4.2? Or does it compete with 3.02.00 or 2.20.00.49? Would 2.20.00.49 not support BLE5? I guess it does, because in the installation directory there is one folder named C:\ti\simplelink_cc2640r2_sdk_2_20_00_49\examples\rtos\CC2640R2_LAUNCHXL\ble5stack . That must be BLE5.
So: Whats the secret behind version numbers? Am I correct when downloading simplelink_cc2640r2_sdk_2_20_00_49.exe and CCS8.1.0.00011_win32.zip and start coding?
Best regards
Harald
