Hi Team,

Do we have example code to evaluate long range including Adv Extensions based on CC2640R2?

Hi Holly,

ble5_simple_peripheral has advertising extensions in it by default using the S=2 coded phy. It is the advertising set that is set using the advHandleLongRange params around line ~1115 of simple_peripheral.c.

Hi Evan,

I see this demo in C:\ti\simplelink_cc2640r2_sdk_1_50_00_71\examples\rtos\CC2640R2_LAUNCHXL\ble5stack\simple_peripheral\tirtos\iar\app

But I only see long range demo as a patch based on 1_40_00_45
C:\ti\simplelink_cc2640r2_sdk_1_40_00_45\examples\rtos\CC2640R2_LAUNCHXL\ble5apps\longrange_central\src\app

Any problem if combine long range + Adv extension together with different SDK version?

That means by using C:\ti\simplelink_cc2640r2_sdk_2_20_00_49\examples\rtos\CC2640R2_LAUNCHXL\ble5stack\simple_peripheral can directly evaluate long range, just need to set below settings as default, right?

Yes. This advertising set automatically uses the coded phy. They can take a ble5 sniffer like the ellisys to see the actual packets being sent over the air. I don't believe that they need to sem them as default. The simple_peripheral program makes two advertising sets, one for legacy and one for AE (Long range) and advertises them both.

That said, they can also look at this following links which mostly references the cc2640r2 ble5 stack, but the software should be mostly compatible with the cc26x2.
