CC2652R: Cannot connect to Watson IoT - message 'malformed'...

First, tried IoT Quickstart. Using only device ID, the card does connect to Watson IoT Cloud - if briefly. Then cloud reports 'received data from device, but message is malformed'

Various bits of IBM documentation indicate Sensor Tags will no longer connect without TLS/Token.

Where would the authentication token be entered in firmware code? (I'm searching)

    Just try this on my iPhone 7 and I can see my LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1 sending messages to IBM quickStart. IBM quickStart doesn't need TLS/Token for connection. You should check if there is Firewall or Anti-virus program blocking MQTT message sent from your smartphone to IBM QuickStart server.
