CCS/CC2640: Can't step into "stack" project using SimpleCentral example

Dear TI community,

I'm building a custom program using the example SimpleCentral as a starting point. With the SimpleCentral example there are two projects; application "app" and the stack. I need to step into the stack code but I'm not able to. Stack code is visible but I can't set a break point or evaluate variable.

Is there a compile/link thing that needs to happen to get there??

Using CCS Version: 8.1.0.00011 on a win10 PC
XDS200 debugger

Hello Fred,

probably you are linking against libs within ROM.
Switch to the loadable into Flash libs.

Fred,

I presume you have built both stack and app projects and have loaded the stack program onto the target using CCS. Could you provide a bit more detail as to where you are trying to set breakpoints and what happens when you try to do so?

2 years ago I had many issues debugging CC1310 UART driver.
I was interfacing 1-Wire bus and I needed to change UART speed on an open device.
After moving to NOROM I had no problems with debugging and I could quickly understand the UART driver was working.
It was workaround regarding debugging but did the trick.

Tom might be on the right track here. I will also move this thread to the Bluetooth forum so the experts there can weigh in with their suggestions as well.

Thanks for the tip, I added the DRIVERLIB_NOROM to the compile predefines and the code compiles. But the only way I can get a breakpoints into the stack code is to do a debug session with the stack not the app. When debugging the stack the app does not execute although I did load it previously... Is this a catch 22? I guess my question is how to have breakpoints in stack while debugging the application.
