I am trying to use the CC2540 as BT LT sniffer. I need to collect MAC address, and RSSI of all other Bluetooth withing the range. I am trying to connect the CC2540 Dongle to i.Mx7 USB interface running Linux driver.

I appreciate if you let me know if the Linux driver is available.

Hi Tony,

TI Packet Sniffer is not supported on Linux.

Hi YiKai,

We have not selected the FW yet.

Here is my application,

Sniff all advertising channel for BT LE, and collect the RSSI and MAC address of all other BT LE within the range.

We have an ARM based processor (i.Mx7) with the USB interface which we will connect this Dongle ( the OS is Linux).

Can we use this Dongle for the above application?

Does the exiting Firmware support the above?

Can we use the above dongle with existing firmware out of the box for the above applications?

As Marie had replied, TI Packet Sniffer doesn’t work on Linux and TI also doesn’t have sniffer tool to run on Linux or Embedded Linux.
