CC2640R2F: Generate advertising packet with SmartRF Studio receivable on Android phones

Hi everyone

I am using SmartRF Studio with LAUNCHXL-CC2640R2, and I would like to generate an advertising packet that I can receive on my android phone. I use the BLE mode and set the channel to 37, 38 or 39. (I believe phones are listening on these channels for advertising packets) I have tried with whitening enable or disable. My phone can detect BLE 5 packets.

So far, I couldn't get the packet on my phone. Is there any settings that I have missed?

Mohammad,

I’ve never used smart RF studio to do this. Can you try using BTool instead? You can find the BTool users guide in the SDK documentation.

You can reference these settings for sending legacy NON-CONN ADV packets with RF Studio: e2e.ti.com/.../2383417

I tried those settings and they worked. The device address is shown as "05:04:03:02:01:ff" on my phone, while I was expecting "06:05:04:03:02:01" as shown on the smartRF Studio settings. The raw data was correct.

I tried btool, but it seems that it is only working in central role. Is there any way to change it to peripheral mode and transmit advertising packets?
