Did you mean the actual part number mounted on LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1 is CC2642R ? Please correct me if my understanding is wrong.

CC2652R is the part number which is mounted on LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R. I think Fredrik means you can use CC2642R instead of CC2652R in your custom design if you only need BLE functionality.
