CC2541: wireless 2.4GHz signal quality

Part Number: CC2541

If a small bluetooth module designed by CC2541 chip is fixed in a tyre of a car, will the 2.4GHz bluetooth signal be blocked absalutely in a range of 5 meters? Thanks.

  • Hi,

It is difficult so to say for sure, but I would think it should work ok. I assume you want the signal to reach into the car, right? The toughest barrier will thus be the car body. The simplest way to find out is to get a kit and do some experiments.

I would be more concerned about the forces put on the HW by being inside a rotating wheel though.

  • Hi Fredric,

Thanks for your reply. There are still three questions about C2541:

1.Can the 256KB ROM for the coding program be enough for a harsh algorithm for example, the SHA256?

2.Does the BLE4.0 have the same penetrability with the bluetooth3.0?

3.Can RSSI function in C2541 be used to measure the distance between a master and a slave?

  • Hi,

I have answered your questions in the separate threads you posted.
