CC2640: Power consumption for different VDDR/VDDS

Part Number: CC2640

Hi Guys

what's the power consumption difference in standby mode by using different VDD voltage? Is the standby current the same the whole voltage range from 1.8V to 3.6V?

that is related to what kind of battery I need to use. Want to save as more power as possible. input is CR2032 2-3V battery, want to check if there is a need to add a buck to 1.8V to save power.

  • Charles,

The standby current is approximately 1.1uA when measured at 3V, the DCDC converter is active during sleep and therefore you could estimate the sleep current by looking at the behavior of the active current found in our datasheet.

    www.ti.com/.../cc2640r2f.pdf , on page 30.

There might not be a 100% correlation here as the current is much lower during sleep.
