     At SimplePeripheral_performPeriodicTask(), write a known value to MyData_SetParameter();

This is to verify that sending data to Mobile Phone using MyData Service works. If it works then your not passing the adc value from your Task. Since your only reading adc value 1x It is okay to not make another task for it. Just read the adc value in SimplePeripheral_performPeriodicTask().

But if you are going to read multiple adc values then do some math like averaging, I recommend you use the Sensor Controller to read the adc.
