Hello

We need OAD android source code example, and find it in " https://git.ti.com/simplelink-ble-oad-android".

We build it and tested with galaxy s7 & s8 with below hardware. We got "OAD on peripheral has the wrong version !” message from this application.

Please let us know the right test case for the android OAD module stated above.

Firmware :

chip : cc2650

BLE Stack : cc2650 SDK 2.02.01.18

CCS 8.0.0

TI-RTOS FOR CC2650 : 2_20_01_08

Complier : Ti v5.2.6
XDCTool :3_32_02_25

Does your OAD image can be used to update device through BTool?

Thank you for your kind reply. We can update image via PC. (Not Btool) Actually, we used the TI original firmware to test OAD. But, we still got same message.

Thank you for your kind support.

We've tested below firmware from TI, which is the latest one.
www.ti.com/.../productdownload.tsp

We've used android build, which stated above "git.ti.com/simplelink-ble-oad-android" .
Tested with Galaxy s8, and got " "OAD on peripheral has the wrong version !” message.

It appears that the Android source example does not work with legacy OAD and only works with enhanced OAD. I will double-check this with the developer.

apparently, we are using BLE stack 2.2.1 or 2.2.2, so we are using so called "Enhanced OAD". Please note that, we are not using Legacy OAD. The library and android example, which downloaded in the ablove link, is also the latest version. I think it should work with "Enhanced OAD", but it is not at the moment. Please check it for us, why this happen with our test case.

Can cc2650 support other BLE stack which include "Enahanced OAD" feature?

No, the above link does not support Legacy OAD.

Also, there are no SDG's released on the CC2650 that use Enhanced OAD. Enhanced OAD is supported on the following stacks:
- CC2640R2, BLE-Stack 3.1.0 and later, and BLE-Stack BLE5 1.2.x
- CC26x2, all BLE 5 Stack
