Compiler/CC2640R2F: Does the CC2640r2 ship with preinstalled OTA SDK

Hello,

I'm ready to migrate my design to production. I don't want to connect to the JTAG (or even include it in the BOM) to flash the CC2640r2. Does the CC2640r2 ship with the current SDK and OTA feature installed to allow over the air installation of hex? If not, how are people flashing these devices in modest quantities (100s)?

No, CC2640r2 doesn't ship with anything preinstalled. We usually use XDS110 programmer and Flash Programmer 2 to program a brand new CC2640R2F chip.

Hi Patrick,

There is no pre-programmed SW in flash when the ICs are delivered from TI.

As an alternative to JTAG you can use the serial bootloader in ROM. This requires either UART or SPI interface.
