the connection problem that between PC(windows7) with CC2540 USB Dongle

Dear sirs,

I have a big probelm..

My PC has no response with the cc2540 usb dongle (CC2540 Mini DK), that response is may be "plug/play page"

And My friends PC too.

And another CC2540 usb dongle, too (I have two of CC2540 Mini DK)

But, My PC has response with CC2540 CC Debugger..

What do I... T.T

    Dear Friend,

    Not sure what the problem is. I was able to bring up both the Keyfob and USB Dongle from the development kit. You need the IAR Workbench patch (ew8051ev_v751a_patches.zip) already posted on this forum. Also, you should make sure that the software is loaded by verifying it with the TI SmartRF Flash Programmer per instructions. Then make sure you can talk to the keyfob via the BTOOL application. Follow the instructions carefully, if you miss a step it won't work.

    And sorry for my short explaination.

    I wanted to tell you that when I plug the cc2540 usb dongle to my PC USB port,

    the WINDOWS does not recognize the cc2540 usb dongle.

    In SWRU270(cc2540 mini DK user's Guide), if usb dongle is pluged into the PC USB port the WINDOWS recognize the "new device"

    and then I can install the usb dongle driver. The problem is I can't do any thing for installation of new device driver, because the WINDOWS does not

    recognize the new product. So, I can't follow the page6~page8 of user's guide, and i can't determine the port number of cc2540 usb dongle.

    .....

    Before installation of cc2540 usb dongle driver and I know the port number, should I do IAR patch and install the TI SmartRF Flash Programmer?

    I can't see a similar problem(device recognization)  in forum.  I'm so sad T.T....

     Hi Dan~ :)

    I solved this problem. The CC debugerr was upgraded by SmartRF studio and I programed to usb dongle and keyfob.

    After programed, my PC recognized the usb dongle.

    Hi,

    When you open SmartRF Studio you should be prompted to update firmware in the debugger, especially when you double click on CC2540/41 chip icons (which you do when you want to start a device specific session in SmartRF Studio). Or it might be that you double click on the CC Debugger in the list at the bottom of SmartRF Studio main window.

    To update firmware on the CC2540 USB Dongle, you can use the Flash Programmer and CC2540_USBdongle_HostTestRelease_All.hex (BLEv1.2.1) image found in the default install directory \Accessories\HexFiles.
